Sun Green, Bream, 1950
Victor Edwards with Daisy Edwards (nee Batten) pictured at Sun Green, Bream around 1950. The old Band Hut is at the top of the hill on the left. At this time it had no windows. The track from Sun Tump down to Sun Green runs just below the gorse bushes. The fence behind Vic's head is the lower boundary of the cricket pitch.
Thanks also to Graham Vaughan who added (December 2007): ".... The house
you see at the top of the picture ( with the white sign on it
) is the house that Harry Horsley lived in. The white board is the
advertising sign for his electrical buisness. The house in front of it is
the house where I live, Medina, New Road. The house to the right is the house
where the late Evan Jones lived. He was the Bream band leader as shown
in some of the other photo`s.
My house and the one to the right were built by two sisters that came here from
the Isle of Wight, Hence the name Medina, which is the river running through
Cowes I. of W. and Vectis next door, which is the Roman name for the I. of W."
