Mike Jones added (May 2011): "... I'm probably not the only one to post this but I can remember Mr Kilby. His forge was situated on the the left hand corner of the Pike crossroads comming up Sparrow Hill. It was demolished for road improvements".
Bernard Pendrey added (May 2015): "... I remember Mr Kilby and taking a horse's harness be repaired, I was 14 at the time and carried it from Mr Lewis's farm which was opposite the church at Staunton. If I am correct he was a short man and walked bent over .Over the front of his workshop was a sign saying 'Rickets Blue'. It would have been 1948 that I went there. ... at the time I took the harness to Mr. Kilby's forge, his forge was between the Feathers pub and the now charity shop, in fact it was joined to the shop".
