John wrote: "... We (EDGS) challenged Bell's Grammar School to a bed-pushing race starting at The Triangle in Cinderford and ending in The Market Place in Coleford - via a route of some 10 miles, including The Long Hill from Mireystock to Edge End! We collected money en route and the proceeds went to World Refugee Year. East Dean Grammar school won the race all hands down!"

Ian Wilson added (January 2016): "... Anybody got any information on whereabouts of Michael Popejoy?".

"The main reason for EDGS winning was that Bells GS bed wheels came off at the bottom of Cinderford, not long after the start of the race. Many other pupils accompanied the 6th form team and may have given a bit of extra help at times - e.g. up the Long Hill!".

Note the Unicorn pub in the background and Coleford Town Hall still standing to the left.

Thanks also to Peter Gazzard and Peter Marfell.
