Men and boys at Woolaston Slade, Gloucestershire.
Ivor Vaughan, Bill Beckett, Bill Vaughan,
In the background is Woolaston Woodside. The date is in the 1940s.
The child is John Vaughan. The date is 1947 and the hayfield was in the Woolaston area.
Bob Beckett the son of Bill Beckett in the photo at the Slade Woodside (above) added (May 2013) "... I have only one photo of my father, I did'nt know another was in existence. As you can guess I shall treasue this picture most warmly. When my brother Don and myself got evacuated from London during the Blitz it became a great privilege to be evacuated to Woodside amongst such a friendly community. Our first stay was with Mr and Mrs Frowin (may be spelt wrong) a few houses down from Mr Cope in the Home Guard photo, then onto the bungalow, Woodside owned by Mr Ted Rekes and finally the Elms, Park Hill. Most of the names mentioned on (Sungreen) Woolaston I can relate to with quite a bit of personal history and memories with it. This I would like to share with my many childhood and teenage friends. I would like to hear from you and keep in touch as long as my limited computer skills will allow. Remembering great times wishing everyone from the past all the very best Bob Beckett".
