Roger Matthews added : "... Can't identify any other names I'm afraid. I'd just like to say what a formidable side they had assembled there. Messrs ODriscoll and Johnson must have been the fastest pair of opening bowlers in the area, both normally played for Lydney. John James was the epitome of style when he batted, normally for very long periods. Garnett Clutterbuck was a fine keeper. Cliff Cooper was a fine batsman too. Cyril Gifford was a magnificent offbreak bowler. The reason I know these players is that I played for Bream in 1959 before going on to play for Berry Hill Parkend and then Lydney before leaving the Forest in 1964".
