Christchurch School c 1914

Pearl's uncle Cyril Dickinson may be in the photo. If so, he was born at Five Acres in Dec 1907. This would date the photo at about 1914.
Pearl added: "I went to Christchurch school from about 1948 to 1951 when we left for Oz. It was the school attached to Christ Church -- is that the infants school? Canon Wyndham-Jones was the vicar at the time. He used to give me a peppermint out of his pocket. It was all covered with bits of fluff and grit and ink and had to be cleaned up before I would eat it. I think my uncle is in the photo but will never know for sure."
The words bottom left are "H? Warren Mommouth". The lady teacher on the right we think is Mrs. Ebborn.
The photo was taken at Christchurch, outside Christ-Church Berry Hill. The photographer was looking South towards Coleford and the right turn is the road towards Symonds Yat. The left turn opposite the sign is the road towards Five Acres.
Stephen Rigby added (April 2024): "... I have listened to a tape of my Great Gramdmother Lillian Case who was raised in Berry Hill. She attended Monmouth school and Berry Hill school and was talking about the family who had a farm/ mine/ another family member a local councillor. Sydney was the headmaster or the primary school in Berry Hill after the first world war. Over an hour of interview. covering her life from 1889 - 1988. Happy to share any useful info. Regards Stephen Rigby",
