Can anyone shed any light on this one?. There looks to be an awful lot of room for this to be a coal mine

Thanks to Ian Pope of Black Dwarf Lightmoor Books for pointing out that this is a photo taken at Blakeney Stone Mine and that the men are Bert Turley, Joe Sedden and Ambrose Reeves. The photo also appears in ('The New Regard', Volume 10, 1995).

Dave Tuffley added (Sept 2014): "... The mine is still accessible and has been explored by members of the Forest of Dean Caving Club over a number of years. A most interesting place with some relics left as on the last day of work".
