Thanks to Jack Smith for help with the names and "The origin of the nickname Bert ("Cark") Smith, my uncle - younger brother of my father Frank derives from the studs of football boots. These were known as corks, or in the Forest 'Carks'"
Thanks also to Graham Wilks who added (Nov 2009): "... I believe Boy 2 is James Wilks Jr. Son of J Wilks who is standing behind him. Jim Jr. was my cousin. J. Wilks was my uncle and my father's (Frank) older brother. I remember Harold Bennett who ran Ruardean A.F.C. when I was a young boy. I played football with Philip Fisher in the late sixties at Roe Buck Rovers".
