John wrote: "... Part of Mushets steel works at Coleford, Sept 1991. Robert Forester Mushet was born in Coleford & did most of his work on steels there in the middle 1800s. He perfected The Bessemer Process for making good cheap steel here.,in 1856. In 1868 he discovered self hardening steel here. (some sources use two Ts in Mushett )".
