Cavalcade of transport through Lydney in 1965 - 2.

Watts cavalcade of transport

These are some photos of Mr John Watts 80th Birthday celebrations 1965. These photos were displayed in the Citizen office after the event and then given to my brother.

Hilary Jones added "... I have a feeling that this is me - blonde child sat on chair and the 'Surgeon' is my late Mother, Sister Mary Jones on the Lydney Hospital Float. I vaguely remember sitting on the Float on a number of occasions - usually very cold.

Cliff Hannam added (April 2020): "... For the sake of regularity and historic correctness: I see two versions have been suggested for the reason for this Cavalcade of transport in 1965. John Watts 80th birthday, also to celebrate his 50 years in transport. It was actually for his 75th birthday. The clue is in the Lydney Cricket Club float. Congratulating him as their president - "75 Not Out!"
