Lydney Post Office Dance in 1946.

Lydney PO dance

Paul added (Aug 2006): "Lydney and District Post Office staff dance held in the Town Hall. Copy of the photo was published along with others in the Gloucester Journal Oct 19th 1946. My mother Betty Hughes is 4 rows back right in the middle. The girl to her right (left in picture) and slightly in front is possibly Marion Luker, my father's cousin.

Allan Lewis added (July 2007): "In Row 5, at position 5 is Alan Davis . The message was : Why is Alan at the dance? He was still at L.G.S.

Dave Dunn added (August 2012): "... I believe I can identify a few people about 90% sure. The man on right corner taller than the others is Jack Prosser possibly with his wife Joan. The man looking over the ladies shoulders between the 3rd and 4th women from the right end of the front row is Stan Walker and I think its his wife 3rd from the end. Stan was the regular umpire for Primrose Hill C.C. and worked as a decorator for the council when I knew him".

Mike Walker added (Feb 2015): "... The man in the front row in the suit and tie is my grandfather, Charlie Walker, a graet stalwart of anything to do with Whitecroft, and the lady to his left is my grandmother, Daisy".

David Wintour added (Feb 2021): " ... 4th row back, 1st and 2nd from left, the two young ladies are my mother Pat Wintour and her sister, my aunty, Joyce Goode.Would have been living at Oxford Street at the time".
