Mrs Peggy Ryland added (September 2013): "... I have fond memories of this church. I sat on the left hand side in the choir in 1960. In 1961 I sang the first verse of Silent Night on my own which was quite daunting. Fondly I remember The Reverend Ainsworth who kindly let the Youth Club Committee meet in the Rectory in 1962. At fourteen I was a member of the club which was held in the Youth Hostel which is no longer there. Mrs Course from the Chemist, Mr Austin the news agent, and the village policeman were part of the committee. Reverend Ainsworth took the people who had been confirmed by the Bishop of Tewkesbury to a big foundry in Loughborough to see how church bells were made. At the time a huge bell was ready to be shipped to Russia. What a wonderful experience which I have never forgotten".
