2 photos of the former railway bridge in Pillowell

Ivor Ellis wrote: ".. photos... by Bob Copeland the founder of Dean Park Contractors of Sling, showing the demolishing of the foot bridge over the railway line at Phipps's bottom Pillowell, he thinks in the late 1960s or early 1970s. They piled earth under the bridge to drop it onto ... The man on the bridge is Dennis Coombs from Berry Hill. He was telling me that they demolished most of the railway bridges at that time. One interesting fact he told me of was when the took down the bridge over the road at the top end of the Futtrell just bellow Dark Hill, part of the steel was laid over the over- spill outlet at the top pond at Cannop to form the foot bridge!".
