Fredrick and Elizabeth Wilkes at Brierley, Gloucestershire.

As far as I can make out this picture was taken at Brierley around 1919. Bert
was later to marry Gwen
Beach. Bert served in the war as a RAF heavy transport driver in The Middle
East and
later in Italy.
In the 1950's Bert took over his Uncle Joe's business, that being, The Post Office
and General Stores on Ruardean Hill and was a stalwalt of Ruardean Hill Cricket
Club.
As a footnote for students of Forest of Dean history, this branch of the Wilkes
family are directly related to the Forest of Dean bear killers !".
