Sarah wrote (March 2008): "My Grandfather, Charles Whitmore Smith, is standing in the front row, 4th from the left. (He used to live in Staunton, and once owned the Post Office and local stores.) The 1st man on the left, in the front row, is Len Hone, who also used to live in Staunton. There is no date on the photograph."
Jenny Harris added (July 2009): "... the man in charge, on the far right, is my grandad Charles Lewis. He used to live at York Cottage, Staunton".
Mark Faulkner added (October 2011): "... Hi Jenny, Charles Alfred Lewis was my Great Grandfather. I have a lot of information on him and his 14 children if you or anyone else who reads this would like to get in touch".
Alfred Gwyn Sparrowhawk added (April 2020): "... Len Hone was my uncle. My mother,Lena Nesta, Len lived in the post office and shop premises through the war. He was definitely still there c. 1948. My Mother & I were evacuated from Hounslow (Middx) during the early years of the war".
