This photo taken on Sunday November 8th 1942 shows Bream Silver Band heading the parade down the High St towards the Maypole, en route to St James Church. The British Legion Standards of the Men's and Women's sections of the Bream branch are being carried behind the band.

The small boy marching in step with the home guard is Mike Brown.

Lynn Bolton added (March 2015): "... I don't know anyone in the photograph but I remember going to Bream at the age of about 8 years old in about 1955 and having my photo taken in front of the Memorial whilst on a visit to my Uncle Riley Bradley who lived in Bream and was the Brother of my Grandfather Horace Bradley who had moved as far as I know from the Forest of Dean many years before to find work in a mine in Castleford West Yorkshire where the family still live. From checking various websites I know that in 1630 a Thomas Bradley originally from Berkshire became Rector of Castleford and Chaplain to Charles 1, I don't know if Thomas Bradley was one of our ancestors but it could be interesting for me to tryto find out ...".
