Bream, The Pike House

This photo shows the old Pike House on the left and a glimpse of the old cricket pavillion on the right.. W.A.Camm describes Bream's original Cinema as being located just above the Pike House. It was a long wooden hut, it showed silent films, the organist was Mrs W.O.Davis and Mr Stanley Jones was the operator. It was requisitioned by the army in 1916/17, dismantled and taken away for their use. It was owned by the Bradley family of Bristol.

Carolyn Willis added (March 2014): "... my nan and granddad lived in the Pike House ..Frank Meek and Sarah (Ginny) Meek. My dad Reg Meek was born in the Pike House. My dad had a brother called Robert, who was 3 yrs younger and was the goalkeeper for Bream football team in 1954 -55, He sadly was drowned in the river Wye aged just 18 in August 1955 whilst swimming with his friend called John Tramplin or Tamplin, so sad!. My nan never got over losing her son".
