Bream Recreation Ground

Note the Rising Sun Inn (top right), the absence of buildings in the distance and the height of the Oak trees around the schools. The white building in the centre of the picture is the old Cricket Pavilion. The building just visible in the distance to the left of the cricket pavilion is the Pike House. This photo, published by the postmaster A.J. Batten was taken at some time between 1887 when the Recreation Ground was given to the village and 1908 when the Village Institute was built.
