*Bob Browning (1888-1949) was a former Kettering Town, Queen's Park Rangers and Southampton player. He served in the First World War and afterwards settled in Bream in the Forest of Dean (the home of his wife - Rose nee Watkins) where he became a coal miner. He played as a permit player for Bream Amateurs. Source - conversation with his grand-daughter and Wikipedia.

Bream Amateurs have played in several locations in Bream. Former player
Harold Cornock recalled (Sep 2006) that the earliest field that he can remember
them using was the one immediately behind Acacia Close - and adjacent to the
current chip shop. The team changed at "Dappers" (The Kings
Head). Later they moved - to a field where Westbury Homes are now
located. The
entrance
was from
the
High
Street
adjacent
to Downham's
Bakery and Bakehouse. This time they changed at the old Cross Keys.
After that they moved back to the first location mentioned before moving to
the
field
behind
Bream
St James
church
- with
access
from Bream Rugby Club. Their changing rooms were at the Bream Rugby
Club. They moved again to the land at Sun Green adjacent to the cricket
pitch
which
proved
too
muddy
in
wet
weather
and
suffered
from the materials used in the landfill there moving up to the surface.
They currently (July 2017) play outside Bream.
