A group standing outside the Kings Head Inn public house at Woodside, Bream (later known as "Dappers"). The Licensee at this time is John R Shingles.

Jeff Jones added: "... Landlord John R.Shingles must be John Rowland Shingles who was born in Breams Eaves in late 1863, and lived in Bream all his life until his premature death in December 1904. The 1881, 1891 and 1901 Census' all show him living with family and employed as an iron ore miner, with no mention of the pub with occupation or residence. However Trade Directories for 1870s shows the landlord (and iron ore merchant) is John Shingles, who was John R's father. This website's Harris Directory for 1897 has a similar entry for John R at the King's Head. Reference books show the pub was acquired by Wintle's Forest brewery in 'the late 1800s, and by 1901 the landlord was a Henry Wintle'. This would date the photo as c1898".
